We have worked with Pure Turbos to make the ultimate stock frame turbocharger upgrade for the Veloster N!
Starting with a Veloster N turbocharger core, it is then ported out on both ends and fitted with a significantly larger 6+6 billet compressor wheel and huge 9 blade lightweight turbine wheel. The turbocharger is finished off with upgraded bearings to ensure a long life at higher boost levels. This combination of modifications provides an extreme increase in flow allowing the turbocharger to reach consistent boost levels all the way to redline while also decreasing EGTs. The turbo itself can support over 400 WHP!
*This turbocharger is not meant to be a first-time modification (commonly referred to as Stage 1). The flow requirements of this turbocharger require previous modifications in order to function to any degree. Modification such as: Upgraded Front Mount Intercooler, High Flow Downpipe, 4″ Intake, Oil Catch Can, Colder Spark Plugs from HKS*
In order to maximize the potential of this turbocharger it is recommended to purchase a calibration that is coded specifically for this. You have the option of purchasing a 19psi calibration or a 21 psi calibration. You can find out more about each one by clicking on their respective links.
Pure Turbos has completely redone this compressor housing with a much larger inlet and the new 6+6 billet compressor wheel.
When compared to the OEM compressor housing, you can see the vast difference in blades and inlet size. This increase in size allows for the potential power you can see in the dyno graph below.
They also took care to modify the exhaust side by porting it out and adding a larger, lighter-weight, 9 blade turbine wheel as well.
Even though that stock turbocharger is a bit dirty, you can still see how the new 9-blade lightweight turbine wheel is less restrictive by minimizing the blade count and adjusting the blade angle while also increasing the size of the wheel. This combination of adjustments allows for better air speed to get the compressor wheel flying on the other end.
We have tested the turbo up to 322 WHP on pump 93 octane at just 20.8 PSI!
